"A reminder to everybody to be very [kind to] yourselves and your loved ones. Look after yourselves and take time to do things that you enjoy; everyone is anxious and can't wait for this to be over. It has been very hard for all of us, but it will clear. We need to try to stay human and be nice to people who need it. [Let's not] lose our patience and [we] need to constantly remind ourselves to keep it together so that we can get through this and be proud of how we behaved through this." ~ Genevieve Lauzon, Carson Graham's DPAC Representative

We — the parents at the Carson Graham Advisory Council Executive Committee — would like to extend warm holiday greetings to you and your family.

We are the parents that help you facilitate some of the funding and effective communication for Carson Graham Secondary, however, at the end of the day, we are parents of Carson Graham students, too.

Our end-of-2020 message is about KINDNESS.

In 2020 we have all had to face new challenges forcing us to face some of our biggest adversities; we have needed empathy & patience to do just about anything; 2020 has sure been a bit off the rails (as my 15 y/o would say). However, through it all, the biggest wins have been kindness.

Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate, as well as affectionate, gentle, warm, empathetic and caring. Kindness improves our quality of life in the workplace as well as in the community. It brings us all together, and showing kindness to others is often more rewarding than receiving (although both feel pretty good!).

So on behalf of Rene, Farhad, Lucy, John, Nadine, Sebastian, and William at the CGPAC, happy holidays and may 2021 bring much kindness your way!

[virtual holiday hugs all around]

Sincerely,
Your 2020/2021 Carson Graham Advisory Council Executive Committee
